That's what your song inspires. |
I am sportin the biggest shit-eating grin right now. I want to throw a chair.

Shit, Crickets. I am surrounded by one talented bunch of fuckers. I had a Kick Ass fest this morning, and then I just listened to Waking up In August. Solid work, Dessorchichez. Then Bunny Wingman's stuff comes on, Die For You, what a mistake I might have made, and I'm thinking:
Holy shit, I can't believe I actually know these guys. Unreal. _________________ Punk rök is for children. |

BYOTCH
Was just listening to Dessorchichez's album, then into a little Drunken English Majors, followed by Draft.
Tonetripper, some of those lines in the Draft "Funeral Director" are absolutely killing me. Especially the "oooooh she was nice". And I love the drum tones on Hiss and Hearse. _________________ Axe Grinder |

My buddy Chad and I made up those lyrics while we were heading to the soss store after recordin the music and we were laughing our asses off.
I agree about the drum tones on Hiss and Hearse..... and all I have to say is two 58s and my stereo mic through the film mixer dude. The stereo mic was about a foot and a half pointed straight down over the kit and the one most prominently featured in the recording. Played with brushes, so it was able to be that tight. Best drum sounds I ever got from my former place with my DAW.
I went on a Gert trip not too long ago and it was awesome listening to them one after another. You guys friggin rule. _________________ .... and there he was accepting of the nice warm chocolate milk.... mouth open..... cracks in his lips..... it was like heaven |

Yeah part of it is the style, for that particular song, great shit.
They're so "natural" sounding, I wouldn't say I'd want that on certain kinds of songs, but it's so great on that tune.

Well Chad is what I like to call a "southpaw" drummer. Rides the hats with his left, but kicks with his right, so he has some leanings in the way he rolls off of things and he's a naturally gifted musician. To be truthful he played that song perfectly. I think he heard it twice and nailed the first take, so loads of energy. I'll tell him what you think. _________________ .... and there he was accepting of the nice warm chocolate milk.... mouth open..... cracks in his lips..... it was like heaven |

I was listening to some cool shit today...everyone in Gert came up on the old shuffle today, and I heard some large quantities of Bunny Wingman, Dessorchichez, their varied collabs, hell I think Jonsonic is on the buttz tracks right?
Stateshirt, hoblit, blind mime all entertained me today too... and Pantera.

You know, The Wave Whisperer's lyrics and vocals rök Crack in my Heart hard. Fantastic. I think that's my favourite one of ours. Especially the line: Broken glass on my lips. Brilliant. _________________ Punk rök is for children. |

Agreed. Happy Father's Day to all you Gerty Dad's.
This is either wierd or a sign I'm getting older. (I'm betting on the latter) In a lot of various places I've been this weekend dealing with with people handling the cash register, I've gotten the question "Are you a Dad"? Followed up by well wishes for Father's Day when I reply "Yes I am". That's been nice, having complete strangers that usually are in a hurry to rush you through the line ask me that and say that.
My day has been excellent. Cards from each one of my children and my wife. Breakfast in bed. Lazy day doing nothing in particular unless I wanted to. And soon to be capped off by dinner cooked by my son. He's making Steak au Poivre, grilled sea scallops, mashed potatoes and warming up some French bread. He's a promising cook at 13 years old.
Anyway, hope your day is going as well as mine Dad's and / or Dad's to be. _________________ Three fatties and a Keg of FourTwenty sounds like the same thing to me. |

All right???this is fucking awesome.
My son, 7, is a bit of a punk. Not the Blink 182 kind of punk but the real kind of punk. I think he comes by it through Osmosis.
So he asked me to make him a new mixed CD today of stuff he can listen to when we go to his grandma and grandpas this weekend, 4 hours a way.
He says he doesn't care what else is on it, as long as it has:
1. Unknown Soldier, by The Casualties.
2. For Those About to rök, AC-DC.
3. TIGER LILLY, BY BIG MOUTH, Kick Ass'S FUCKING BAND.
Those are the 3 tunes he's digging right now. Fucking right, Kick Ass. HE'S 7! _________________ Punk rök is for children. |
