Well kids, I was trying to move this thread, (that was starting to contain some contentious comments about people who might happen by this place), to the Dressing Room, and I accidentally deleted it. So, I'm sorry.
In it's place I resurrect the same name, and humbly suggest we bash any other people in the locked thread area.
Oh and maybe I'll figure out how to back the database up while I'm at it.

umm..if you want to...
defending TT's gay-ness is easier than a big anti-Gert campaign on the SF boards because someone came by and saw a bitch fest about their reviews or views..
I dunno...just trying to be sensible. I don't really care that much if you guys are cool with it.. |

Here's some Miscellany for yas:
I saw the Fat & Happy guy again yesterday (from Johnsonic and I's "B??ttz" tune) and man, he looks so creepy.
Method of Delivery may be featured in a FedEx commercial. Just a couple parts. I need the extra $$.
I play every Thurs. at this place and I mean we own the place when we play there. There are some incredible new waitresses.
I like coming to work for two reasons: I don't have alot to do for the rest of this week, and where I work is 70% women, 20% gay guys, and 10% hetero males. Either way I swing, it's a great place to be.
I like C and D cups, but can appreciate good presentation of a B cup.
Watch your step the further you get to Moscow, Idaho....big brown teeth... _________________ Axe Grinder |

The Wave Whisperer IS A FAG. [edit: apparently this could be misconstrued as a homophobic reference. DO NOT MISCONSTRUE. I like gay people. Some people think I am one...but that's debatable, and it was college and everyone's entitled to experiment. There. that should be better. ]
JIM WRITES FUCKING HORRIBLE REVIEWS.[edit: But I like Jim. and I was kidding.]
There. we are back on target...
(just kidding about the bad reviews bit.....oh. I guess the fag bit too.... damn. Crossing the line used to be so much fun before the "man" started deleting threads).
Seriously, a good move man. Let's make sure the private stuff STAYS private so as to create MORE buzz for those who want in. And can't get in .

SSooo.... they accepted my offer for the house... subject to a building inspection and site survey... 198,000 ....ikes.
It has a 23 x 26 shop... insulated and drywalled all ready, seperate from the house. I want to make a room inside the room...as a jam room, and then have a control room outside...gotta research rooms, shapes, materials, soundproofing... any suggestions throw 'em out there!
Oh... I would also say ... WHOHOO!!!!!! _________________ I haven't forgotten. I wait... like Gordie Howe. |

DUDE! that's awesome! home ownership is a trip man. Nice!
I have shape question too... my studio is rectangular...so do I put the desk facing the end or the wide side? I've always had it in a corner to take advantage of my non bass producing monitors. I worry about changing that...thoughts? Painting is FINISHED...pics to follow. |

Kick Ass:
Avoid square rooms. And try to avoid making either of the sides the same length as the floor-to-ceiling. If you're handy, I have good instructions for building bass traps and panels that you can mount on the critical reflection surfaces. If you can soffit your montors into a wall, you'll reduce the need for corner bass traps, but it's an ass-load of work.
If you're still in the research stage, spend some time here: http://johnlsayers.com ... There are a few guys there who build treated rooms for a living, and they'll assess your plans for free.
The Wave Whisperer:
There are two answers: On one hand, it doesn't really matter as long as you pick an arrangement and stick with it. You'll get used to the room's response, and your ears will adapt over time.
But the more technically accurate answer is: you want as much distance between your monitors and the back wall as possible. So face into the long axis of the room. (And have each monitor equidistant from the side walls .. But not centered between floor and ceiling. And treat your first-reflection points. And if possible, put the monitors and your listening position in 3 of the room's modes. |

Sweet, Kick Ass! Have fun (and say buh-bye to a goodly portion of your free time for the next few years, heh). Seriously, though, rök!
And thanks for the grunt in the Funeral Director thread. Coffee makes me human. Gotta not read the threads before coffee. Still, I do want to rip that little shit's d... whoops, need more coffee! |

Congrats Kick Ass...... jealous...... love to own my own home..... for now it's all about renting. Awesome news.
And Rabid way to give 'er buddy. I didn't realize that you served. Respect to the fullest mon frere. I love when someone like you sticks it to the man even though the man could potentially stick it to you for being so brazen. Freedom of speech is not lost even with the ideals that the Bush administration has put forward thus far. Don't get me wrong. I love America, but I must concur with your wise and poignant words posted in that thread. The world needs more outspoken people like you. Art and politics eventually cross paths. That is just history. _________________ .... and there he was accepting of the nice warm chocolate milk.... mouth open..... cracks in his lips..... it was like heaven |
