Had a great jam with Johnsonic on bass tonight and the Guv-nah on drums, wrote a song structure, recorded it live. Pumped!
Then, the toilet gets flushed and there's water everywhere in the basement, some sort of blockage in the main sewer line leading from my house out to the street. Sweet. And the best part is, the toilet water backed up into the washing machine. Piss water on the floor! So right now I'm sitting here while the roto rooter dude is clearing that shit up. Almost done.
Gonna go listen to that jam again..the ribbons are sounding great on the kit and Matt's drum part is rippin' (Thanks for getting me into those mics Dessorchichez.) J and I are tight on the chords, especially in the chorus...might be time for vocals real soon...

Feel your pain, B....I had the same thing a few years ago. Tree roots invaded the sewer outs to the main line. Roto'd and also bought some checkvalve basement floor drain plugs...lets water down but not up. I don't ever want to see mystery sewage chunks on my floor again.

Yeah man, I think those two big old trees near the sewage line were giving me shit. The dude ripped his roto line down there twice and then flushed everything, I'm good to go but twice a year this stuff I should dump down the toilet that will keep the line clear.
My basement is totally unfinished and bare, just basically a laundry area and workbench, lumber storage area, so luckily there was nothing to damage.
Well I was back at it yesterday. Recorded a little tune inspired by some old Maria McKee song, did a guitar and drums, then got to work polyurethaning, woodwork and shit, in my house's entryway. I also killed a woodchuck yesterday. Felt a little bad for the bugger but now he's fertilizer for my garden and his 4 other buddies are all still kicking around. Perhaps they'll join him, soon...
