In related news, I just got a call from the radio station to tell me I placed 2nd in the voting.

Right on, congrats. Does that mean anything? As far as prize?

For what it's worth, each day I went to the site, listened to all the songs, and voted for the song that I honestly and truly thought was the best. Somedays it was yours, somedays it was someone elses. Somedays I felt no one deserved my vote.

But the performances on Tuesday night will be judged, and the final position of each band determined then .. So who knows?!

Well, if there's one thing I know it's that you can pull off a live performance with style. So you should be in good shape. The gig is Tuesday night in Barrie, right?

3rd place, of 5 bands.

That's better than it looks. The 1st and 2nd place bands are both local acts. We didn't have a chance against them, regardless of performance. (And TT can testify to the ... uh ... talent of the winners.)

Really, there were three bands competing for 3rd place. And that we earned the honour is best summed up by a comment one of the judges made at the end of our set: "You basically played the whole set with a broken A string, right? My hat's off to you!"

F'real, thanks for your support guys. The 5 bands that performed all received prizes. Our prize was frightfully substantial for a "band" who rehearsed once.
